The Challenge: Work Package Management

The project focused primarily on non-graphical work package management in addition to manual RFI tracking and scaffold work package management in spreadsheets and Excel causing delays and human-errors. 

The Solution: O3’s ONBuild Solution

ONBuild allows users to scope, manage and progress all IWPs (not just pipe and steel) across all disciplines, functions and package phases. Users were able to create a work package with a 3D model or without a 3D model using one single tool. ONBuild enabled the project to transition from spreadsheets to a modern software for RFI Tracking. Scaffolding constraints and approvals provided visibility into cross
discipline reviews.

Results: Ability to Evaluate the Impact Engineering has on Construction

With ONBuild, the project was able to effectively create work packages with or without a 3D model using one tool across multiple disciplines. Status visualization that supports the progress of the packages, constraints against components, materials, and productivity vastly improved the ability to make accurate decisions and in real-time.
