2021 Advanced Work Packaging Conference Recap
Check out some of the highlights from this year’s two-day event focused on optimizing AWP from the front-end through to commissioning and startup.
The AWP Conference 2021 was led by industry subject matter experts including EPC firms and Owners. This year’s conference emphasized the importance of AWP systems to deliver a more efficient and effective project delivery for all stakeholders. There were four tracks based on your level of interest and AWP maturity starting with Breakout Track 1: Industry Associations and Research Initiatives.
The first session was presented by CII leaders called Scaffolding & Access: Think You Can Support AWP for Scaffolding? Think Again. This session focused on the announcement of the first industry source for AWP best practices in Scaffolding & Access Management. They unveiled the CII Best Practice Guide for AWP in Scaffold & Access Management. For more information on this session, you can email us at info@O3.solutions.
The second track “Front-End Planning and Other AWP Topics” featured the first session by O3, This “Choose Your Own Adventure” style presentation included audience participation to vote on the path to take in order to “win” the AWP game. Day two kicked off with O3 contributing to the Keynote: AWP and Engineering – the Final Frontier. This highly entertaining presentation was done in the format of a news anchor/moderator with “special guests” throughout. The content was value-packed with information on why AWP is here to stay and how Engineering can adopt it. In this interactive discussion, they addressed why AWP use among engineers isn’t at the same level as that of their construction colleagues. Some other key discussion points centered around:
• What is the true cost to engineering to adopt AWP?
• Does AWP in engineering require increased spend and new deliverables?
• How are organizations addressing and minimizing that cost?
• What are the AWP benefits directly to engineering?
• Join us in the most important discussion we can have for moving AWP forward for the entire industry.
This was a great AWP conference and O3 was proud to be a part of it as we continue to drive AWP adoption across industrial construction. For more information on the sessions you may have missed, reach out to us at info@o3.solutions and we’ll be happy to share the content.
